Blending Brush inspiration

Hello and Welcome to our Sunday Night Blog Hop CASEING the CATTY.

To CASE is to Copy And Share Everything or to Copy And Selectively Edit and we love to CASE from our amazing Stampin' Up! catalogues.

This week, we are CASING a blending brush project in either catalogue.

I was inspired by this snowflake card in the July to Dec Mini Catalogue - on page 38 and my CASE is very similar - no grand inspiration for me this week - it was CASEING all the way!!

I used the lovely Brightest Glow and Christmas Lights stamp sets along with the Labels Aglow dies - all of which are part of the Lights Aglow Suite - one of my favourites!!

I've embossed all the stamping using Silver embossing powder and then used Coastal Cabana ink for the blending brush colouring.

The inside reflects the front of the card - see the dotty edging in the Silver Foil?  That was created using one of the Labels Aglow dies - looks cool right!!

The lovely shimmery ribbon under the greeting looks very sparkly and fun!!  And I finished the card with some rhinestone gems.

Make sure you keep hopping around everyone!  Up next is the amazing Michelle and her gorgeous mice!

Feel free to add your creative project here to our Facebook Page!

Framed Florets in gorgeous blues.

Hello and Welcome to our wonderful Colour INKspiration challenge.

This is a fun challenge using colours from gorgeous images found on Pinterest.

Wouldn't you love to be here?  This is a stunning photo.
Originally I was going to use the Paradise Palms, but then, the Framed Florets arrived into my craft space and I couldn't help myself!!  I hope you don't mind!

I've created a simple z fold card that makes use of the gorgeous oval Framed Florets dies mirrored on the front and inside of the card.

The swag of flowers was coloured using ink and a Wink of Stella brush to give a gorgeous soft finish.

I've also used the Old Olive and Wink of Stella brush to colour the frame on the inside of the card (confession - I had a glue/ink splodge on my frame, and painting it solved the problem!)  And I like the effect!!

The greetings in this gorgeous stamp set are so lovely!!

Inspired by Geraniums in the catalogue CTC#392

Hello and Welcome to our Sunday Night Blog Hop and Challenge CASEING the CATTY.

To CASE is to Copy And Share Everything or to Copy And Selectively Edit and we love to CASE from our amazing Stampin' Up! catalogues (CATTY).

This week, we are CASEING a sketch!! Open your Annual Catalogue at page 58 and check out the geranium card - this is the sketch!!

My card is one of the ones that will be in my Embossing techniques class next week.  I've used the Hive embossing folder, then added white ink using a blending brush, then stamped it with Soft Suede ink and Ranunculus Romance stamp set and then also distressed the corners a little using my fingers.

Having the 2 part embossed panel as per the sketch really made this more interesting I think - and I certainly would not have thought to do this without this fun challenge!! Originally I had the embossed pieces go right to the edges of the card as per the sketch, but it just didn't work for me!

The embossing was done on Kraft cardstock, which I've also used with the Ranunculus dies.  The other stamping and die cutting was done on Very Vanilla cardstock, stamped using Soft Suede and coloured using Petal Pink, Soft Sea Foam and Daffodil Delight Stampin' Blends.  I've also flicked a little Soft Suede ink using a water painter!

Inside the card is some simple stamping and a bit of colour.  Now it's time for you to keep hopping around to see lots of brilliant ideas with this great sketch.

Up next is the amazing Michelle and her equally amazing Pokemon card that couldn't be more different than mine!

I hope you join in our challenge too - add your project here.

Have you seen the new kit??  Check it out!!  So useful.  So pretty. So fabulous.

I hope you'll consider who awesome it would be for you to join our gorgeous group!!  Click here.

Geometric Shapes for our Scrapbooking Blog Hop!!

Hello and Welcome to our amazing Scrapbooking Global Blog Hop - the people in this group are so extraordinarily talented!!

This month, the theme for our pages is Geometric Shapes and presented by Mai - who's projects are always amazing.

To be honest, I really really struggled with this theme - I'm just not a structured geometrical scrapper!!

The way I dug myself out of the creative slump, was to create a 2 inch grid on my white 12 by 12 inch using my Simply Scored scoring tool and then created a checker board using the black design of the glimmer & metallic paper.  The photos worked well for the geometric theme as they are from a photo booth and they allowed me to line them up perfectly.

And then, after I made my checker board, I then just HAD to add some flowers to soften all those geometric shapes!! And I HAD to use my new supplies of the Fitting Florets bundle - these are coming very soon for you!!  I coloured the flowers using Stampin' Blends in Shaded Spruce, Daffodil Delight and Pumpkin Pie.

I created the title using the Alphabest Bundle of stamp set and punch and I think it looks pretty geometrical!!

All of the journalling pieces were cut using the Stitched Rectangles dies which looked lovely atop the metallic paper!

So, I think I've fulfilled the geometric shapes brief!!  After all my angst, this page actually fell together quite easily.

I hope you'll keep hopping around everyone to see lots of brilliant inspiration!!

Up next is the awesome Cheryl.
