Trimming the Tree in our CTC#382 Sketch Challenge

Hello and Welcome to our Sunday Night Blog Hop and Challenge CASEING the CATTY.

To CASE is to Copy And Share Everything or to Copy And Selectively Edit and we love to CASE from our amazing Stampin' Up! Catalogues.  (Catty)

This week, we are CASEING a sketch from our Sale-a-bration catalogue.

This sketch was perfectly timed for when I was exploring with my Trimming the Tree stamp set and a new fold introduced to me by one of my team members - a step card.  Originally I was going to have my main panel to the left as per the sketch, but I just couldn't do it!!  So, even though I DID work with the sketch as my starting point, I actually failed at following it completely!!!

My card also features the gorgeous Boughs of Holly paper and the fun glitter washi tape.  I stamped the greetings using Cherry Cobbler - one of my favourites for Christmas.

I've embellished the tree using Adhesive backed stars and red pearls.  The label for the greeting comes from the lovely Pretty Pillowbox dies.

I was so taken by this fun fold and the general layout of the full length panel that I created a bunch of these cards with differing colours and papers.

This card features the Sale-a-bration gold paper for the background.

This card features the lovely Snowflake vellum specialty paper.

And this one has a combination of the Boughs of Holly paper as well as some of the Sale-a-bration paper.  I created the star on top using strips of the glitter washi tape on a scrap of cardstock which I then die cut using the Sentiment Silhouettes dies - there is a perfect sized star in these dies!!

Which is your favourite?

Make sure you keep hopping.  Up next is the fabulous Peta.

  2. Great fun fold. I'm trying to work it out. Does the tallest part go right to the bottom on the other side of the card to write your greeting on or is it tucked behind the DSP on the front? I think my favourite would be the last as the tree on the front really stands out and it has a bit more depth in the DSP, then next would be the red card - so lush!
