Boughs of Holly CTC#381

Hello and Welcome to our Sunday Night Blog Hop and Challenge CASEING the CATTY.

To CASE is to Copy And Share Everything, or to Copy And Selectively Edit, and we love to CASE from our amazing Stampin' Up! Catalogue (CATTY).

This week, we are CASEING the Boughs of Holly Suite on page 24 - and my card was inspired by the bottom right card featuring the gorgeous fussy cut Boughs of Holly designer paper.

I've used this card as a starting point to try out a fun fold that creates a card which works like a book!!

I've cut the Boughs of Holly designer paper so that it is 12 inches by 13.5cm.
I've scored it along the long side at:
2", 5" and 8"

Here's a little quick video from Alisa Tilsner showing how this fold is created.

The Poinsettias were fussy cut from the Boughs of Holly paper and then used on the front of the card and on the inside flap.

I've also used Brushed Metallics Foils to die cut some Holly leaves using the Holly Berry Dies.  These leaves are from the die which has the leaves on a label - and I cut off the leaves.

My card has been mounted onto a piece of Mossy Meadow cardstock that is 11 x 14cm.  I've also used Mossy Meadow to stamp the greeting inside which comes from the Brightest Glow stamp set.

The front of the card also features the wooden Textural Elements which I've coloured with Cherry Cobbler and Soft Suede Stampin' Blends (the catalogue illustrates this technique on the bottom right of page 25!!  So helpful!).  The greeting from Leaves of Holly stamp set was stamped with Versamark and then heat embossed with white embossing powder.  It is also die cut from the Holly Berry Dies.  And the final touch is the ribbon.  I couldn't find my Natural Woven Ribbon, so I used the gorgeous Frayed Ribbon which worked equally well with the same technique of cutting it lengthways and then fraying along the edge.

I hope you keeping hopping around everyone!  Up next is the amazing Peta.

You're invited to join in with us and share your project inspired by Boughs of Holly onto our Facebook Challenge page here.

  1. What a great book fun fold! I love how the red on red for your card gives a totally different look to the green DSP background.
