Choosing a Favourite CTC#375

Hello and Welcome to our Sunday Night Blog Hop and Challenge CASEING the CATTY.

To CASE is to Copy And Share Everything or to Copy And Selectively Edit and we love to CASE from our amazing Stampin' Up! catalogues.

This week we are casing our FAVOURITE retiring product!!  And what a challenge!!

Eventually, I decided that I would go to the first product I wanted to buy from the Catalogue when it came out - which was the Flowing Flowers stamp set. I think this is a gorgeous stamp set with artistic images and a bunch of perfect sayings!!

My card is actually a fun peek-a-boo card featuring window sheet.   My Card base is 10cm x 21 cm and I have scored it at 14.5cm and then cut off 3cm for the bottom piece.  The window sheet is 10cm x 14cm which is adhered next to the score line, and then the extra piece is adhered to the bottom of the window sheet.  It looks so lovely and is so easy to do!!

The flowers were stamped using Petal Pink and Cherry Cobbler with Pear Pizzazz leaves.  I have fussy cut all of these out and then strategically placed them on the window sheet to cover the greeting stamped in the centre of the card.  I've also wrapped some seam binding ribbon around the base under the flowers and tied a pretty bow!!

When the card is closed it looks like an ordinary card but when you open it, there's a little window!!

The inside of the card features lots of simple stamping!!

Up next is the amazing Tina and her favourite.

We'd love you to join our challenge and share your favourite!!

Colour INKspiration challenge featuring Brilliant Butterflies

Hello and Welcome to Colour INKspiration challenges!

This is a fun colour challenge featuring gorgeous images and Stampin' Up! colours.

I totally love this image!!  The bird is gorgeous and so are the colours!  I actually looked it up to see what it was and where it came from, and here's what I found.

The green-headed tanager is a brightly colored bird found in the Atlantic forest in south-eastern Brazil, far eastern Paraguay, and far north-eastern Argentina.
As other members of the genus Tangara, it is a small colorful bird

When I was deciding on my project, I thought about using my sweet songbird punch and stamp set, but really, I didn't think it would evoke the gorgeousness of these colours.......soooo out comes an old favourite the Brilliant Butterflies and a really cool fun technique to add colour.

I used Stampin' Write Markers to colour the Brilliant Butterflies stamp set, spritzed the stamp to give it a little moisture, and then stamped my image onto the cardstock.  THEN, I used the corresponding Brilliant Wings Dies of all the butterflies and cut out a mask/stencil which I used to give extra colour over the top of the butterflies giving them more depth.  Doesn't it look lovely!!  I will be doing a video showing this technique and this card, so keep an eye out for it!!  It will be on my Facebook Page at Handmade by Julia Quinn, and also on my YouTube channel at Handmade by Julia Quinn

I have also featured the lovely Quiet Meadow stamp set for the text and splodges adding some more interest to my project.  The lovely lovely greetings come from the fabulous Charming Sentiments Bundle which is full of great dies that outline the greetings perfectly!!

In case you didn't notice, my card is also a fun z fold which looks so great in these colours!!

Hello and Welcome to our Sunday Night Blog Hop and Challenge CASEING the CATTY.

To CASE is to Copy And Share Everything or to Copy And Selectively Edit, and we love to CASE From our amazing Stampin' Up! catalogues!!

This week we are CASEING our favourite retiring Mini Bundle from the January to June Mini Catalogue.

I just HAD to make a project with the amazing On the Horizon bundle paired with the New Horizon papers.  I just love the gorgeous decor frame featuring the paper on page 42.

I have made a theatre card to feature these gorgeous papers and the amazing dies that work so perfectly!

The back of the card features the On the Horizon stamp set and more of the Horizon Dies with some space left for the greeting for the recipient.

I stamped the greeting and birds using Starry Sky ink.  The frame for the front of the card is stamped using Early Espresso on Crumb Cake cardstock and the rustic wood stamp from the set.

The base of the card is Tahitian Tide (which could be a bit bright?) but it helps you see the construction of the card!!

Can you see the sweet little In Colour opal rounds scattered on the front of the card near the fence?  Don't they look gorgeous!!

Here's a video showing you the construction of this card so you can try and create it too!!!

Make sure you hop around everyone to see all the amazing projects from the team this week!!

Numbers in Scrapbooking

Hello and Welcome to our Monthly Scrapbooking Blog Hop!!!  This is a truely amazing international group of scrappers who use Stampin' Up! products to share creativity with you!!

This month the theme for our hop is Numbers - designed by ME!!  I hope your get some fabulous ideas!

A theme like Number is perfect for any birthday!!  And for special dates!!  And I've incorporated both on my page using a Scrapbookers best friend - the Alphabest Bundle of stamp set and punch..

I have also used the equally amazing Cottage Rose Bundle and
the coordinating Abigail Rose designer paper.

I've coloured the flowers using Highland Heather and Fresh Freesia Stampin' Blends (my daughter loves purple) and added Silver Foil die cut leafery and Smoky Slate cardstock.  I've also used another new favourite - the Designer Tags Dies for all the journaling details.

The main greeting comes from the Go To Greeting stamp set which I've fussy cut for the title of the page.  Can you see the gorgeous silver Sprig Trinkets?  They blended well under the floral clusters.

Another silver element on my page is the wonderful Metallic Mesh Ribbon - soft and glorious!!

I love the way the fabulous Best Label Punch coordinates perfectly with the Alphabest stamp set!!!

I hope you've been inspired by my page and that you'll try some of these gorgeous new products in your scrapbooking!!
