Scrapping with the Global Team featuring backgrounds

Hello and Welcome!  Today it's all about the background detail!!

I'm hopping with the amazing people who contribute to the Scrapbooking Global Blog Hop.

The theme this month was designed by the amazing and inspirational Delys Cram and the challenge is to share DIY Creative Backgrounds - and this is something that I think Delys does incredibly well!!

Initially I was exceedingly flummoxed about this theme!!
And I also left it to the VERY LAST MINUTE to get creating!!

So My Creative Background Technique is collage stamping - because basically I love stamping, and when you do lots of collage together, it doesn't have to be precise to achieve a lovely look.  I think this is a technique that everyone can do!!

I've used:  Artistically Inked, Days to Remember and Quiet Meadow stamp sets.
I have also done some sponging with a Basic Patterns Decorative Mask and Fresh Freesia and a blending brush.
The inks are inspired by my photos (which are very pink due to the light in the restaurant).
The cardstock is the new Fresh Freesia, with Artistically Inked splodges stamped using Pale Papaya and Polished Pink.  The number stamp from Days to Remember was stamped in Night of Navy, and the splatter from Quiet Meadow was stamped in Fresh Freesia.
I just love love love the ink splatter look BUT cannot make it look authentic all by myself, soooooo a splatter STAMP is a total win for me!!  I love it - and you would find it super easy too.

The Days to Remember stamp set worked for some background stamping using Night of Navy Ink  AND for the title elements around the page - this is a perfect stamp set for Scrapping - you really need to add it to your collection!!

All the gorgeous gold elements are from the Expressions in Ink Ephemera Pack - another Must Have for your scrapping and cardmaking too and really good value.  I put my photos onto a mat of vellum, added adhesive on the back, attached the gold elements and then adhered the whole panel to my prestamped page. MY final touch was some super cute Loose Flower Flourishes adhered with a little mini glue dot.- which is the perfect adhesive for these little bits!!

So, is this a background technique you would like to try?  Contact me and I can teach you!!
