Gingham Gala inspiration for CTC#219

Hello and Welcome to our Sunday Night Blog Hop and Challenge CASEing the Catty.

To CASE is to Copy And Share Everything or to Copy And Selectively Edit - and we love to CASE from the abundant offerings from the Stampin' Up! catalogues.

No photo description available.

This week, we are CASEing from the Gingham Gala chapter of our Occasions Catalogue - only a couple of pages, but some pretty amazing inspiration for all of us!!!

I'm inspired by this gorgeous humming bird card featuring the Humming Along suite on page .  The thing I really love about this card (apart from the AH MAZING colouring with the Stampin' Blends) is the gorgeous watercoloured background over the cut out from the Hummingbird Framelit.  So that's where I have started.......

When looking at my framelit collection, I could only find this treasure from the Stitched Labels framelits from the Annual Catalogue.  After cutting the sweet stitched segment, I then used the inspirational colours from the Hibiscus card in the same photo on page 36, and watercoloured/splodged Pool Party ink over the cut out and the bottom right corner of a piece of Shimmery White card stock - this card stock is more robust and able to withstand more wateryness than standard cardstock!!

The next step was to find something I could colour with Stampin' Blends that would be just as awesome as the original card!!   Eventually, Vibrant Vases jumped into my hand - and it's time they received a bit more stamping love anyway!!

The colours were inspired by the hibiscus card - and I fussy cut the whole vase with the flowers.
See the fabulous Whisper White flax ribbon behind the greeting there?  When you look closely at the hibiscus card you can see the frayed edges peeking out from the central image - isn't that cool?!!

The inside of the card features a few more of the fun framelits from the Stitched Labels collection, and some more water splodging and flicking!!  I coloured a couple more vases using the same colours  I used on the front of the card - these are Pool Party, Old Olive, Lovely Lipstick and Daffodil Delight.  This time, I used the Vase Builder punch to quickly cut out the vases and put them in the corner.

Because it was International Women's Day last Friday 8th March, I decided this card would work wonders for the event - hence the greeting of 'amazing you'!!  I love the surprise of this huge greeting inside the card!!

I hope you had a fabulous International Women's Day this year!!  You'll see some pretty amazing and inspiration Women on our hop tonight as they share their collective creative genius inspired by the Gingham Gala chapter of our Occasions Catalogue - up next is Remarkable Rachel and her totally adorable baby card.

So, would you like to share how you've been inspired by the Gingham Gala chapter this week?  It's so easy to add your project to our facebook challenge page!!  You can find the link here!!

Until Next Time,
Happy Stamping,
Love Julia   x
