CTC#174 Hostess/Memories & More inspiration

Hello and Welcome to some wonderful CASEING the CATTY inspiration for another week.

We are a team of designers using the Stampin' Up! catalogues for a starting point for Copying And Sharing Everything or Copy And Selectively Edit from the awesome projects filling every page.

This week, the focus is on our Hostess pages and the Memories and More chapters.

I'm incredibly grateful for the challenge this week, because it was the starting point for an amazingly productive weekend scrapping!!  I finished up creating 6 pages!!!  I'm amazed.

My first page drew from these images on page 192 of the Annual Catalogue featuring the Petal Garden Memories and More Pack.  In the end, I cased the WHOLE PHOTO layout, and not just the 2 smaller pages - including using the little card on the bottom left as part of my page.

Buoyed with my successful first page, I then embarked on a journey using the next picture featuring Perfect Days at the top of page 192.

I created both of these layouts fairly faithfully - only  using 12 x 12 paper instead of the pockets.

And so I've ended up with a double layout using the Perfect Days Memories and More Cards.

I then decided (by this time I'm totally on a roll!!) to CASE the Memories and More page from the Occasions Catalogue page 24.

My page is far simpler (I'm making lots of pages here - need to be quicker and simpler to maintain the momentum teehee!!).  I've substituted washi tape for the gorgeous texture at the top and bottom of the page.

All the products in this page are predominantly retired goods - Marina Mist, Butterfly Basics stamp set and the Bundle of Love DSP.  The greeting comes from the Mini Treat Bags framlits - also retiring.

Next, I saw a bunch of cutouts and offcuts on my desk from the Perfect Days double layout, soooooooo, I threw them together to create another quick page and stamped some extra interest with High Tide stamp set.  Using the frames left over was a fun way to create extra interest on my page.  I didn't even grab any extra cardstock to stamp the lighthouse - it was stamped on another offcut - you can see the Memories and More card detail under the stamping!!

My last page for this weekend features the super sweet Hello Lovely DSP and some MORE of the Perfect Days cards.  It's amazing the different colour ways that are possible with just this one Memories and More card pack.  I love this versatility!!

THANKYOU to you if you stayed with me through this epic blog post and days of scrapping!!

Now it's time for you to hop over and see Peta's stunning card featuring a sample that is very popular with the team this week.

And please add your projects inspired by our Hostess pages or Memories and More pages to our lineup on our facebook page.

Until Next Time,
Happy Stamping,

Amazing Colours again at Colour INKspiration #31

Hello and Welcome to Colour INKspiration and our fabulous adventures with colours!!
Image may contain: food

Our colours this week are really impressive. They are:  Old Olive, Cajun Craze, Crushed Curry, and Tempting Turquoise.

Our family was privileged to go and see Aladdin last weekend - and these colours really reflect that amazingly colourful and vibrant musical!!

My project however, is nothing like that!!  😊

I've used these colours to help me create an awesome project I will be doing at the nursing home next week.  The brief is to create some tags that the residents can then give to the school children who visit them as a way of saying 'thankyou for caring for us'.

I have water coloured (using the challenge colours) and cut the main images, and the elders will them assemble and stamp greetings to create the tags.

I didn't photograph the reverse of the tags, but it features the lovely saying from Dragonfly Dreams - 'thankyou for the smile and everything else'.

I've used the super fun set Magical Day and the coordinating Magical Mates framelits for the feature characters.  I think the little year 1 kids will really enjoy these!!
(Actually, I'm pretty sure the elders will love them too!!!)

After working with children AND the elders, I just KNOW they will all love the glimmer paper!!  Sparkle makes everything perfect!!

This project actually uses lots of different framelits and punches!!
Stitched Shapes, Layering Circles, Magical Mates framelits, and
Starburst, Duet Banner, Triple Banner Punch and also the Lovely Label punch (which is on the reverse side).

Amazingly these colours really work well together with such vibrancy and fun!
(Working with bright colours really is a challenge for me!!)

I really hope you will join in the fun of the challenge too, and that you enjoy the amazing inspiration of the design team - so much talent and cleverness to enjoy every single time!!  Keep hopping all the way, and up next is the amazingness of Nicole Wilson and her wonderful interpretation of these colours.

We'd love to see what you come up with using these colours too!  Add your project to our lineup on our facebook challenge page here!!

Until Next Time,
Happy Stamping,

New Colours in the Stampin' Up! family

Stampin’ Up! makes a point of regularly reviewing their colour spectrum to ensure that they remain consistently on top of the trends. So, after 5 years of our current core colours, it is time for a Colour Revamp! In order to keep bringing us the most current and on trend colours, they decided it was time to give our colour collections a makeover.

How does it work?
There are still 4 colour collections, each with 10 colours. There is also a new colour group called Basics. In order to keep our colour collections to exclusive Stampin’ Up! colours, Basic Black, Very Vanilla, and Whisper White have been moved out of the Neutrals collection. A few other colours have been moved into the Neutrals collection, making it more exciting and colourful!
Some additional colours have changed collections as well. These changes were based on needing to maintain colour balance in our updated collections. For example, Poppy Parade is now the brightest red so it is part of the Brights collection, and Real Red has moved into the Regals collection.

In Colors
There are no changes to the In Color programme. Every two years we will continue to introduce five new In Colors that will be available for the ensuing two years. We also have previous In Colors that are returning and joining our core colours. Welcome back: Mossy Meadow, Poppy Parade, Flirty Flamingo, Coastal Cabana, Mint Macaron and Blackberry Bliss!

So, the all-important question - which colours are leaving us?

Note that Flirty Flamingo is leaving as an In Color, but returning as a core colour in the Brights Collection.

In addition, the inkpad case style has been updated with a fresh new look. It is now easier to open, more air-tight and stackable! All inkpads ordered after June 1 will be in the new style.

If any of these are your faves, stock up on cardstock, accessories and ink refills now, before they are gone!

Until Next Time,
Happy Stamping,

Favourite Florals for SUO Challenges

Hello and Welcome to another awesome challenge using Stampin' Up! only products!!

We are totally new and refreshed this week!  And to celebrate, we are sharing our Favourite Florals from our Annual Stampin' Up! Catalogue!!!

So....... where do you start with such a fabulous challenge!! I mean, ALL the stamps are my favourite!!!

In the end, I decided to ink up one of my absolute favourites that has NOT seen much ink lately!!  It's the super cute Floral Sentiments!!

I went on a real journey of discovery with this stamp set!!! (As you do......)  I wanted to have a play with the fun of Brusho - so that was where I started.
I created 2 cards using both of the images from the stamp set for each colour technique as I explored.

I tried the Brusho in 2 ways - first I stamped in Basic Black and then attempted to (sort of) colour the images sprinkling Brusho in appropriate places.

The second Brusho attempt was using white embossing powder to make the image on watercolour paper, and then I used the Brusho to create a silhouette.

This wasn't really my favourite finished product (but I thought you would enjoy the weird workings of the creative process going on in my brain!!!)

Finally I just decided to stamp using Crumb Cake, and then colouring the images using markers - with Old Olive, Daffodil Delight, and Pumpkin Pie.

So, what do you think?  All of these cards are so so so different!!!  I've used the same colours, and similar embellishments on all of them, but WOW, I was blown away with the differences.

I think I'll need to play some more with Brusho, but there is certainly fun trying!!!

So, head to your craft space and get creative with your favourite floral Stampin' Up! stamp set from our Annual Catalogue!!  We love to have you join in the fun! Add your projects to the lineup at our blog.

Until Next Time,
Happy Stamping,
Love Julia   x
