By the Tide

I was totally inspired by the beautiful work of Julie Gearinger who created this lovely fish card here and so I had a go too with the products I have available in my own supplies.

I have used By the Tide and Itty Bitty Banners as my stamp sets.

The colours I have used are Baja Breeze, Early Espresso and River Rock for the cardstock.  I used Julie's ideas of the texture on the top and bottom of the front panel - woodgrain below and perfect polka dots on the top.

The Ovals framelits helped to create the lovely oval center piece and the naturals ribbon adds some interest under the greeting.  The secret to doing the ovals is to do the two tone top panel oval first, then create the textures onto each half.  Then place the top oval panel onto the piece of Early Espresso to line up the next oval in the correct place, then remove the top panel and cut out the second oval.

I think this is a lovely card!! And thank you Julie for the wonderful inspiration.
